Waiting as a Form of Care

🇮🇹 Versione Italiana

The choices that change us teach us to slow down

Hello everyone, and welcome back!

There are moments in life when we slow down without even noticing it, it happens whenever we make a choice that matters. Sometimes it’s a gift chosen for someone we love; other times it’s something much bigger, like deciding to welcome a dog into our lives. They’re different kinds of waiting, but they share the same heartbeat: they prepare us to change a small part of the world, and a small part of ourselves.

The Gift as a Gesture

When we give a gift, to someone or to ourselves, we never choose “just a thing.” We look for something that quietly says, “I really thought of you.” And in that moment, we find ourselves imagining the person who will receive it: what makes them smile, what makes them feel seen, which small details describe them better than a thousand words.

That’s when we understand that a gift is never the object itself. It’s the intention, the care, the thought we poured into it. It’s an invisible thread connecting the giver and the one who receives.

The gift of of the care

A gift is never the object itself. It’s the intention, the care, the thought we poured into it.

The Gift of Adoption

And then there’s another kind of gift, one of the deepest ones: choosing to adopt a dog.
There is waiting there too: forms to fill out, phone calls, doubts (“Will we be good enough?”), the house to prepare, the bed, the first leash. And that strange feeling in your stomach as you try to imagine who will arrive.

When Terence came into our lives, even before seeing him in person, we already loved him. He had become a daily thought, a quiet “someone is coming who will change our life.”

And he did. With his story, his sweetness, and that silent way he has of taking up space… turning it into calm

The Symbols That Stay

From that journey, our little world was born, a world where everything begins with a story, a bond, a meaning.
Not because we want to philosophize over every detail, but because we’ve learned that whatever we choose; a dog, a gift, a project, always carries a piece of us.

And suddenly, everything takes on a different value.
A motif, a color, a line becomes a memory, a connection, a message that keeps flowing.
It’s not something you “buy”: it’s something that grows from an experience, from an emotion that left its mark.

The power of Waiting

Waiting turns gestures into care, and moments into memory.

What Comes to Stay

The things we wait for, whether big or small, often stay with us far longer than we expect.

They slip into our days, take a place in our story, and without making a sound, they tell the world who we are.

Because waiting has a power of its own: it turns gestures into care, and moments into memory.
It gives value to what we choose, and meaning to the time we dedicate to it.

Buongiorno a tutti e bentrovati!
